Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme , launched in 2013 aims at providing strategic funding to eligible state higher educational institutions. The central funding (in the ratio of 60:40 for general category States, 90:10 for special category states and 100% for union territories) would be norm based and outcome dependent. The funding would flow from the central ministry through the state governments to the State Higher Education Councils before reaching the identified institutions. The funding to states would be made on the basis of critical appraisal of State Higher Education Plans, which would describe each state’s strategy to address issues of equity, access and excellence in higher education.
From 2013 to 2017 Professor P.C. Chaudhury was working in the college as Incharge of RUSA. Presently Professor Amit Kumar Sahu is working as Incharge of RUSA. RUSA started funding to college in the year 2013, in 2013 RUSA allotted Rs. 4,00,000 ( Rs. Four lakh only) as preparatory grant. Workshops on GER and NAAC Evaluation have been organized in district level, in which expenditure in cured was from the preparatory grant. College received a grant of Rs 2 Crore (Rs. Two Crores) for the construction of 08 New Class Rooms and for Purchase of Lab Equipments in the session 2016-17. The construction under the Infrastructure Development was complete but the Purchasing of Equipments has been going on.
