About the Department – B.C.S.Govt. P.G.College, Dhamtari (C.G.) is a recognized college is also known as Babu Chhotelal Shrivastava Govt.P.G.College, Dhamtari is a recognized college is also know as Babu Chotelal Shrivastava Govt.P.G.College ,Dhamtari was established on 1963. The college is affiliated to Pt.Ravishankar Shukla University Raipur and is recognized by U.G.C. under 2(f) and 12 (b) since 1984.
Zoology department in miscible started in the college since 01-07-1966 in B.Sc. Zoology under graduate level class zoology, Botany and chemistry subject combination. In the session 2018-19 postgraduate course in zoology ------------- commanced in the college with or extra sanctioned post. The haboratony set under the department and equipment advanced a stero = cupric binocular, autornatic ,slid project ,binscular research microscope compounds microscope ,centrifuse machine ,colorimeter ,gel electropohonics hot plate, microfom ,over incubator etc unit are available.

M.Sc level allotted total seat – M.Sc-40 Seates
The post of the professor & heads of the department zoology has been occupied by Prof. G.G.Rathor ,Prof. A.R.Ingole ,Prof. D.K.Sharma, Prof. (Smt) P.Shukla ,Prof. (Smt) K.D.Minj ,chronologically.Shri A.R.----------- had been the lab technician of the zoology department till 1987 then onwards Shri S.K.Rathor has been seeming the department as the lab technician
