CHEMISTRY

About the Department

The study of chemistry at the undergraduate level in the college started from July 1966 and at the postgraduate level from July 1983. The Department of Chemistry is the largest department of the Faculty of Science. As a product of this department, many students have brought laurels to their names at the state level. In the past, Prof. T. R. Jaggi, Prof. M. Qureshi, Dr. K. N. Bapat and Dr. L. K. Tiwari have been working as Head of the Department. Presently Dr.A.K. Singh is the head of the department, He is life member of Indian Science Congress Association.  Shri Sunil Prasad Srivastava as non-teaching staff (laboratory technician) and Shri Ashwani Kumar Lodhi as (laboratory attendant) are working in the department. There are 40 seats available for the students at the postgraduate level.

Two regular asstt. Professors (Amit Kumar and Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sahu ) have been posted from 2017 in the department by the CG PSC. In which Prof. Amit Kumar has been an old student and guest professor of the department. The Demand Ratio of the department at the postgraduate level is 1:7. The result of the subject remains encouraging at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
