The course of Sociology has been available for the students of the programme B.A. since 1966 in our college is an optional paper. The same course in had taken over the college on 9th June 1981. From 2006 private centre for M.A.- Sociology in the college examination centre has also been commenced. M.A.-Sociology class in semester basis has also been sanctioned form the session 2020-21 with the creation of one new post of Assistant professor. In graduation level study the department of sociology has been guiding the students for survey work interview etc. The Jigyasa Club form by the department also organizer curricular and co-curricular activities amory the students meritorious students and the students winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd position in competition were awarded certificates and prizes.
